I applied for a role at GitLab multiple times for the same position over last 2 years and advanced through several rounds , including a detailed take-home test and a technical interview. I spent a significant amount of time preparing and completing these assessments, only to be rejected without any feedback. In multiple cases, the final interview was with same person
What’s most upsetting is not just the rejection, but the complete lack of transparency or feedback, despite the time and effort involved. It left me feeling that candidates' time is not valued at all.
If GitLab truly stands by its values of transparency and inclusion, this kind of candidate experience does not reflect that.
I hope GitLab takes this seriously and improves both the professionalism of its interviewers and the fairness of its hiring process. Candidates deserve to be treated with respect and to at least receive constructive feedback after investing time in multiple stages.
