Come and join the Network Rail Operations training team as a lead trainer at Shettleston. Inspire and develop new signallers undertaking the CIRO diploma in Initial signaller training. Day to day you will be delivering Initial Signaller training in Absolute block supported by a fantastic team at Shettleston with occasional reasonable travel to other sites. As part of your development, you will undertake a 6 week train the trainer course to help you learn to deliver the course, a level 3 City & Guilds in Learning and Development and an Assessor qualification to be compliant with NOP 2.17.
Contract type: permanent (x2 opportunities available)
Hours: Full time 35 hours per week
Band & Salary : £43,588 - £53,167 per annum depending on skills and experience (Band 4)

Main responsibilities:
1. Lead on the delivery of inspirational technical, safety and behavioural training, assessment, coaching, and mentoring activities using a diverse range of delivery methods including face to face, virtual and digital solutions. Proactively work with the training planning team to maximise personal utilisation.
2. Actively foster a safety-first, "No-Unsafe-Acts" culture within employees and actively promote the Network Rail Values at every touch point. As an exemplar of best practice and professional attitude, drive Network Rail corporate messages & behavioural communications into the consciousness of employees. Without exception, always act safely; always promote safety awareness and always demonstrate clear compliance and belief in safety.
3. Support the development of apprentices including undergoing relevant safeguarding checks, supporting the assessment of their NVQ's, task books and work-based learning, and provide the additional technical and support sessions required.
4. Provide an excellent learner experience by enhancing their enjoyment, motivation to learn and value gained from the training event. Differentiate the learning approach to accommodate all learning styles and individual needs.
5. Must be experienced and fully capable in the relevant technical or operational competence and willing to undertake continuous professional development and up-skilling. Achieve NVQ Level 3 Learning & Development within 18 months of appointment. Support the development of other trainers both within Network Rail and externally.
6. Develop and improve training, assessment material, aids, and equipment. Represent Network Rail Training at capability development groups and skills forums leading on the development of specific competence areas.
7. Positively contribute to the continuous improvement of the Training Centres' internal quality procedures, external inspections, and work instructions, demonstrating a personal commitment to continuous improvement. Support the maintenance of training centre training assets where relevant.
8. As a Network Rail Manager, always actively support, promote, and enforce company processes, initiatives, messages, policies, whilst actively demonstrating managerial behaviours and values.
