Really purpose led with strong ambitions. Good work life balance and generally working with some fantastic and caring people.

Cons

There’s lots of change at the moment so some negative people around. But they are the minority. Tune them out and this is still a fab place to work.

Loved working here. My team was more like family than anything. We worked together and it was such an amazing atmosphere. CBS itself was an amazing building society to work for. Due to relocation I had to move jobs to another building society and that has made me realise how simple and people focused cbs were. Our systems are simple and easy. Definitely more user friendly than many other building societies, we definitely put our members first.

Cons

Pay potentially could be higher seeing as we were a dual service branch who most definitely had more knowledge than our contact centre staff. I seemed to have to correct so much contact center staff as they were giving members false information when they would attend the branch. Definitely require more training in contact center. Atleast the basics of branch network so they can give the right advice to customers. I do wish they had a fully remote position as I have relocated to London and can not seem to find a suitable position that’s feasible. I would do anything to return to the building society.
