- The pay is really poor. Jobs in HR advisory are very challenging and require a lot of skill and this is not represented in the pay packet. They company are also not transparent about pay. There were people working in the same role who were paid vastly different amounts (I’m talking about thousands). When pay is brought up with senior management they avoid the subject or say the company can’t afford it. The only way to get a pay increase is to threat to leave! A colleague did this and was offered a £12k pay rise! This is a kick in the teeth when CEO and directors advertise on social media that they are on luxurious holidays and out at very expensive restaurants. - The workload is incredibly high. Yet senior management just say “everyone is busy”. I started looking after an allocation of around 30 schools and that increased to 120 schools. There is a lack of consideration for employee wellbeing in this respect and views (apart from sycophantic ones) are not taken into consideration. - Expectation to work well over your contracted hours and never given thanks. - The CEO once publicly said in a staff briefing that she doesn’t believe women can be successful in business and take full maternity leave. EPM’s workforce is predominantly made up of women and the majority of them are mothers. The CEO then went on to brag that she only had 2 weeks off with mat leave! - They don’t follow HR practices! 2 restructures and job title changes were made without formal consultation with staff. - Pathetic infantilising perks - Easter eggs and Xmas vouchers. - During the pandemic they made people return to the office fairly quickly as they didn’t trust some people working from home. They didn’t address these concerns though, just penalised the whole workforce. - The People team are unresponsive and do not have an open door policy. Emails regarding health concerns were not replied to or there was 2+ months delay. - Believe the negative reviews! I’ve heard the People Team are creating false reviews and asking newbies to leave reviews that address anything negative said. - Lack of support. Most colleagues are really supportive but they don’t have the time or capacity to help due to heavy workloads. - If your face fits (and you’re sycophantic) you do well. There are a few people who are constantly promoted without interviews. Most of these people do deserve promotions but there is a lack of transparency and fairness. Some people have job titles created especially for them! Whilst other people never get promoted despite being brilliant. This leads to high staff turnover. - If you bring up any issues at work you are sidelined. - Parking is awful. Bring your car to the office if you don’t mind it getting bashed. -The office is very uninspiring and in a depressing location. - Huge lack of diversity. Didn’t acknowledge anything about BLM during the time.
