Pros
Talented teams who are doing their best despite the lack of support and unachiveable expectations from leadership. Good brands and products. You will make friends as you will bond over stressful working conditions.
Cons
The culture is a red flag. There are different employee groups you can be a part of on diversity, mental health etc but it's all a facade and a company tick box. They don't support on flexible working as they know people work overtime so they are unwilling to discuss condenced weeks for working parents. I've seen people promoted specifically to avoid having to go through formal disciplinary procedures. If someone is a problem, they are often moved up or sideways rather than being managed out. Chronic Understaffing: You will be expected to "double job". Because the hiring process is so slow, gaps are rarely filled with the urgency required to prevent burnout. Management is terrified of bad reviews from external candidates. As a result, hiring managers are pressured during the interview stages to provide instant and detailed feedback, and to ensure external candidates feel pampered. The standard for existing employees is the polar opposite. Internal candidates are left hanging for weeks without updates. Feedback for internals is often vague, unfair, or non-existent.
