It seems that there are many people at MBDA that have ticked all the boxes or answered generic interviews questions in the style required but once hired they clearly can't do the job. It is a systemic issue that new hires come in on higher grades/pay then get trained up by people on lower grades and we are doing exactly the same job. If that lower graded person wants recognition or promotion they have to jump through hoops and prove that they can perform tasks that the new hire cant even do. Also some people get promoted as they have the right connections. It's totally unacceptable. Also they have all these processes on their internal website that they boast about but they don't follow them when challenged. Bullies are not dealt with despite formal complaints and people are suffering greatly with their mental and physical health due to this. Their systems and procedures are so out of date and it takes years for improvements to be implemented if at all. Too many meetings and not enough action

from the point at which I applied the MBDA team were in my corner, supporting and guiding me through every step of the recruitment process, regular updates on progress and the MBDA Timeline App kept me informed and gave me valuable insight into the company . On day one a superb induction session from the HR team , supported by a one to one buddy system, and well organised IT provision ensured that everything went to plan. MBDA have a proactive approach to getting the work life balance right across the workforce with various options for working patterns and benefits packages which compliment and enhance the working environment and career opportunities on offer.

Cons

The only negative is the time needed to onboard due to security checks that can range between 2/4 weeks for basics security and 2/6 months for enhanced security levels which for a candidate who is unemployed can be the difference between accepting or declining a job offer . Whilst a absolute necessity and fully understandable it can be daunting.

Great culture, and community environment. Great career development and training. Excellent catering facilities / Restaurant & Cafe.

Cons

Lots of Red Tap Slow to process security clearance (4 months from interview to start) Security restrictions = Limited and outdated Software / hardware / applications. Low pay to skills ratio, compared to equivalent elsewhere. Pay actually offered, significantly less than advertised.
