Our CEO Pascal Soriot shares our strong 2024 performance with continued double-digit growth and scientific progress across all Therapy Areas. We're also pleased to announce that AstraZeneca’s total annual dividend has increased by 7% to $3.10 per share and will further increase in 2025. This momentum reflects the great work of our teams to deliver for people, society and the planet. #WhatScienceCanDo
At AstraZeneca UK, our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) represent the diversity of our UK workforce and allow us to better understand one another. Last week, ‘Safe Space’, one of our ERGs focused on fostering well-being, hosted a session in Cambridge at our global R&D facility, The Discovery Centre, to raise awareness of mental health within the workplace and how we can support one and other, with over 200 people engaging! By having these open discussions our employees can support each other in a respectful way and ensure we create an environment where everyone can thrive. Thank you to all members of our Safe Space ERG, who helped organise this event!
We recently attended the National Apprenticeship Show in Liverpool. Our apprentices offered insights into their work, sharing their experience with students, to inspire the next generation of early talent at AstraZeneca. As we continue to hire apprentices for our 2025 cohort, keep an eye out for upcoming opportunities across the UK in the new year. #Apprenticeships #nas #nationalapprenticeshipshow #AstraZeneca
Earlier this month, we proudly sponsored the Black Women and Breast Cancer 6th Annual Conference. This event unites expert voices, advocates, and patients in addressing the serious disparities that persist throughout the entire breast cancer care pathway for Black women in the UK – from screening to access to treatment. Roughly 150 people are diagnosed with breast cancer each day in the UK, and data shows that women from Black Caribbean and Black African backgrounds are significantly more likely to be diagnosed with late-stage disease.
By 2040, chronic kidney disease (CKD) is expected to be the world’s fifth leading cause of mortality. Don’t miss a critical conversation where health and policy experts will address the interconnectedness of cardiovascular, renal and metabolic diseases and why earlier detection, diagnosis, access to treatment and care of CKD needs to be prioritised.
Last week we welcomed our 2024 apprenticeship cohort, which includes 42 apprentices based across all five of our UK sites!
Last week we hosted our first-ever Work Experience Week in London, as part of our commitment to the Camden Council STEAM programme, supporting 12 young and aspiring sixth form students from 5 local schools in the borough.
This year we are excited to celebrate our 25th anniversary with our teams around the world! We are pleased to report 2023 was another year of double-digit growth and scientific progress, with investments in exciting areas of science that lay the foundations for continued long-term success. We are committed to unlocking the power of what science can do for people, society and the planet.
Health is the bedrock of society, but with ageing populations, a rising burden of chronic disease and the growing impact of the climate crisis, health systems are struggling to meet people’s needs. We must put health first. There is an opportunity to transform the delivery of care by strengthening health systems to be more resilient and equitable, and transitioning to net zero. We know that when we’re healthy, economies prosper. When it’s a priority, people, societies and our planet thrive
As we welcome in 2024, we reflect on an extraordinary year for our #Volunteering programmes, in which our teams based across our UK sites in Central London, Cambridge, Speke, and Macclesfield participated in 479 volunteering days and provide support for over 4,000 people! We encourage all of our teams to participate in volunteer programmes, and beginning in 2024, our employees will receive a two-day allowance (per year) for voluntary work. We're excited to help even more local communities in the coming year!
