With women making up only 10.3% of the construction industry*, it is vital that we as a sector make development opportunities open and clear to our female colleagues, giving them a platform to inspire a new generation of individuals entering the industry. Our Catalyst Programme focuses on connecting and empowering our female employees, offering personal coaching, development sessions and monthly panel discussion with senior female leaders in the sector. The goal is to inspire our teams to feel supported in their roles and career development.
We're excited to welcome our latest group of graduates onto our Aspire programme! Over the next 2 years, our grads will undertake development modules that focus on leadership and project management to help them develop vital skills for their future careers. They'll be supported as they rotate around the business, gaining insight into all areas of the construction industry before choosing what they want to specialise in for the last months of the programme and beyond. Our Employee Connect groups bring together under-represented demographics from across our teams, offering a platform to freely discuss topical issues and support each other within a safe and accepting environment. We want everyone to feel comfortable and confident in bringing their whole self to work each day.
Earlier this year we supported our partners, RSPB, with the launch of the Nature on Your Doorstep campaign with a £1million investment. The initiative aims to bring communities together to share experiences and create more havens for wildlife and people. Since forming our partnership in 2014, the RSPB has been fundamental in helping us to tackle issues of biodiversity and supporting us in our commitment to providing homes for nature within our developments. This campaign is yet another example of how we can all be encouraged to do our part in the delivery of safe homes for wildlife. As part of our ongoing commitment to support colleagues health and wellbeing, and to address the concerns that flu may affect more people than it did last year due to the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions, we are partnering with Boots to offer a flu vaccination to more than 4,000 of our employees who are not eligible under the NHS Flu Vaccination Programme.
Mental, physical, lifestyle and financial health all have an impact on one another and play a crucial role in our overall wellbeing. We've signed up to the Building Mental Health Charter, growing our network of mental health first aiders across the business to help raise awareness of mental health and promote ways of supporting one another. We make it a priority to give our staff the tools they need to progress their careers.
