Jonathan Tart, a Machinist for our valves plant in Raleigh, NC, has had an interest in how thing worked and how to solve problems with mechanics since he was young. After a variety of experiences from welding to carpentry to agriculture, Jonathan was looking for a role that would offer him unlimited opportunities to use his creativity. “I’ve been with Flowserve 14 years. The thing that has kept my excitement about Flowserve alive for all this time is the possibilities that each day brings. The ability to take raw material and make parts and valves and see that come together to make a working component makes each day exciting.” Jonathan currently serves as a lead in the forged steel area of the plant and ensures materials are flowing and departments are working together toward solutions. With 20 years at Flowserve, Margie Lewis brings deep expertise to our Lynchburg, VA, valves operation. In her role as a Precision Assembler, she collaborates with her peers, supervisors and engineers to build actuators and assemble parts orders. “With each unit that I build, I challenge myself to deliver beyond customer expectations with quality products. In my role I also troubleshoot units to find solutions for the best way to assemble the product,” said Margie. On a typical day, Margie’s toolbox consists of hammers, drills, a press, and air guns.
