This month Esther, our Global Head of HR, sat down with Hope, Delegate Sales Manager at IQPC Exchange UK to talk about her journey with us, IQPC Sales Culture and much more. It was inspiring to learn how Hope’s career has developed in the last few years and to share for a moment, the passion she has for the job and team. An undeniable perk of working in our industry is the chance to travel and spend time onsite at events. Especially in today’s hybrid world of work, it’s a fantastic opportunity to dust off those networking skills, meet inspiring business leaders, learn new things and spend much needed facetime with colleagues. Working onsite can absolutely mean long days and sore feet, but without a doubt, it’s still the part of the job that all of our people value the most. And at the end of it all we can never resist a good team photo. Check out the post below to see our teams at their best...
At IQPC London we have successfully run annual Management Development Programmes (MDP) to support the professional growth of the business since 2011. However, the pandemic sharped our focus on growth – both people and product. To continue our pathway of organic growth as a business we mapped out the key areas to grow our businesses, alongside the career paths and opportunities that we can provide. This has been in the making for some time and now we have launched a new five level MDP programme which is entirely outsourced to a training partner organisation. What was born is a five-tier management development programme that can support employee development from the newest manager to the most senior Department Head. The two most critical factors to our continued and future growth are our people and our product. The fact that we have no product without great people means that talent development is central to everything we do in the London office. The overall objective of our new MDP is simple: we want to help you to become the best authentic leader possible!
Last week our Charity & Culture Club met to discuss our initiatives and ideas for 2023. We usually work with and support numerous good causes throughout the year, as individuals and collectively. A fair proportion of that meeting was spent discussing the awful situation in Turkey and Syria following the earthquakes. Our discussion was on how we can help and what can we do NOW. One of our amazing employees, Rizwan Bhana, already does brilliant work sponsoring up to 2000 orphans across the region but also works with One Nation to help get much needed aid and support to regions in crisis. We therefore mobilised our great volunteers to help us with getting together as many donations as possible for this Thursday. I would just like to state how proud we are to work with people like Riz and the rest of the members of our charity club. We are true believers of the fact that many people want to help and show our respect and solidarity to the people affected but often don’t know how. Why not contact One Nation and see how you might be able to help.
This month we celebrate ten years at the IQPC Group for the Managing Director of our Defence business, Pete Andersen. Pete originally joined as a conference producer back in 2010, he subsequently left us to work in a similar field, but obviously realised he had unfinished business within our Defence business and returned on 27th February 2013. 10 years, on and Pete is now running our Defence businesses on a Global scale. Pete is extremely hard working and one of the most determined people you will ever met. These traits, combined with incredible business acumen, have resulted in him being the perfect example of how our career paths deliver success. Pete has been instrumental in the transformation of our global Defence business and someone that we are all extremely proud to work with. Therefore, we couldn’t let his ten years’ service pass by without asking him to share some pearls of wisdom. Visit our Careers Website to learn more about Pete's career journey with IQPC.
“OPEX Week returned to Miami last week in spectacular style. The event had everything; from an inspirational keynote by US sprinting legend Gail Devers to a Back to the Future-themed drinks reception (complete with actors and a DMC DeLorean). To see the event back at full strength was a total privilege and wouldn't have happened without the relentless hard work of everyone in these photos (plus several people who aren't in them). Particular credit has to go to Lily Smith for delivering her first large-scale event to such a phenomenally high standard, and to Daniel Moore for forging so many strong new partnerships with the ground-breaking solution-providers who power our events. My key takeaway? True transformation is possible, but only if you've got great people. If that's true, I'm excited to see what else these legends can do in 2023. They're not so great at taking organised photographs, but they're pretty great at everything else - and I'm incredibly proud to be one of them.” Ben McClatchie, Division Director, IQPC UK
When you love what you do, most days are pretty good, but occasionally you get an extra special one; and this was 100% that! A day of new ideas and inspiration at IQPC UK's Inaugural #WomeninBusiness Offsite, alongside 120+ female employees and male allies. A huge thank you to our wonderful internal speakers plus a big shout out to all our amazing WIB Team for making this happen. Finally to the incredible Sarah Jenkins, MD of Saatchi and Saatchi, who gave so generously of her time to inspire us all, thank-you. It was inspirational to be around so many driven and motivated women and such a great opportunity to learn how we can continue to improve and drive equality in the workplace. A wonderful way to end the year.
