It will also include the relocation of Durham Register Office to the site. Over the next week, we will be sharing with you some of the inspiring and talented women we have working at Kier - they'll be sharing their experiences, more about the roles they work in and what their aspirations for the future hold.
Following on from the chancellor's budget earlier today, our chief executive, Andrew Davies, said: "It has been encouraging to see the Budget set out a path to address the steep economic challenges the UK faces, as well as a commitment demonstrating how infrastructure can support the UK recovery and address regeneration and levelling-up across the country. "Critical to the recovery will be the unlocking of ‘shovel-ready’ projects and the speed at which these are brought to site. We, as an industry, are ready to work collaboratively with government to make this a reality and further details of the National Infrastructure Bank announced today are an important and positive step forward”.
At any one time at Kier we have around 550 projects on site across the country. Every project we deliver allows us to bring our unique thinking to solve problems, innovate and collaborate with our clients, supply chain and beyond. Long after a contract has been delivered, communities remember us for the positive legacy we leave behind. To look at the range of projects we have completed across the UK, visit the below:
To help our colleagues manage childcare and work during half-term, we hosted activities each day for their children. We'd like to thank our colleagues who helped organise and run the daily sessions, including: * Susan Lucas, HR systems trainer, who hosted a singalong and a storytime with Memory Owl, to help children with their times tables *Joanna Malin-Burke, an office manager and Andrea Simon, a regional SHEA manager, both Girlguiding leaders, hosted a scavenger hunt and outdoor survival indoors. * Older children were invited to a career conversation with Kier chief executive Andrew Davies and head of talent acquisition Paul Thornton, where they asked Andrew questions about his career and learned about CV writing, job applications and interviews from Paul. Outside of those sessions, families were encouraged to complete a series of challenges, and we were very impressed with their efforts!
