If it matters to you, it matters to us. At Kier, our people can take two additional volunteering days on top of their standard annual leave entitlement each year to support local charities and communities of their choice. It's just one of the many ways Kier supports the communities we operate in. See our employee benefits here: https://lnkd.in/e9yWp45

Can you imagine not only fleeing your home but also having to give up your career and start from square one? Meet Mohsen, section engineer for Kier Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks. He is an Iranian refugee who fled his home to protect himself and his family. He has been an engineer his whole life, but when he got to the UK, he was not able to return to his chosen field due to language and education barriers. That’s where RefuAid came in. RefuAid is a charity dedicated to helping refugees lead independent and dignified lives in the UK. They support refugees like Mohsen with language courses and financial support, and ensure that they have the relevant qualifications to succeed in the UK in their chosen field. We partnered with RefuAid in 2022, joining a consortium of companies dedicated to providing sustainable employment opportunities to refugees. Mohsen has been with us since 2022 and is thriving, bringing new ideas and diversity of thought to his project. If you want to learn more about Mohsen, watch his full video in the comments below. There are some nights which are truly magic, and the European Women in Construction & Engineering (WICE) Awards was one of them! Taking place last night, the industry came together to recognise the fantastic talent we have across the industry. We’re incredibly proud to share that Louisa Finlay, our chief people officer won the lifetime achievement award. We also had two other finalists, Enrika Beig Morton-Rowell CMgr and Karyn Herdman, both have bright futures ahead of them. Congratulations to Louisa, from site engineer to our CPO, you’ve been blazing a trail since you joined the industry – and we have no doubt that will continue! #WICEAwards2023
Adam Lilley is a senior recruiter at Kier and today, he is openly sharing his mental health journey in our latest blog. As someone who at times felt lost during his experience, without knowing where to turn or who to turn to, Adam is now an advocate for getting people to talk to others and seek the support they need. We’re proud of you for sharing your story Adam - thank you. #MHAW2023 #JoinKier #Constructionrevolution
