Pedestrians and pooches using what has been described light-heartedly by locals as "the busiest road to nowhere" have received a donation of new, high visibility clothing from our brilliant Fyfield sewage treatment works project team in Wiltshire. Site agent Graham Stubbs thought up the initiative, after he left work one evening and was surprised by the number of people using the route without any reflective protection, leading to Graham, and his colleagues Duncan, George and Jack to take action, who presented their donation at an event on the weekend. Sue Elks, who represents the Fyfield dog walkers and pony club said: “Many, many thanks for the very generous gift of hi-vis clothing. The equipment will be well used by people (and pooches!) of all ages”. Andy Lingham, operations director for Kier said: “The work we are undertaking at Fyfield will have a significantly positive, but mainly unseen impact on the local community. I commend them for taking this initiative to influence the hearts and minds of the locals”. Great work team! #DeliveringForCommunities
We are starting the week with something a little different from us. As we look to attract new talent into the construction industry, we wanted to give an insight into how interesting, varied and rewarding it can be. So, we asked colleagues across Kier to share why they are proud - of what they do, the difference they make, and also, how as a business we are doing what we can to support them. If you want to find out more about the jobs we currently have on offer or the various ways you can start a career in construction, click 👇or leave us a comment and our recruitment team will be happy to help. https://lnkd.in/d_YWY5S #ConstructionRevolution #JoinKier

Last week we were joined by Kate Beavis, who hosted a webinar for employees and facilitated an open conversation about the menopause. Kate's session offered an insight into what the menopause actually entails and how to get the support you need. Attendees ranged from people who are currently experiencing symptoms themselves, to people who wanted to learn more about what to expect, or those who wanted to understand how to better support their colleagues or loved ones through the menopause. We had some fantastic conversations, with Kier employees giving each other advice and support. Here's what some of them had to say after attending: https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:6891315140701356032
