A kitchen is always better when it’s full... But we know that for too many people across the UK, having food in the cupboard is not something they can take for granted. That’s why we’re incredibly proud to announce Trussell as our official charity partner. Together, we’ll be supporting people and communities facing hunger and hardship throughout the UK. And our colleagues have already stepped up (quite literally) to support this fantastic new partnership… Throughout May, our teams across the business took part in a virtual step challenge. Together, they walked a HUGE 30 million steps and raised £4,000, which could help provide emergency food to over 300 people facing hunger. This partnership is part of our Better with Magnet ESG framework and reflects the positive difference we want to make for the people, homes and communities we serve. Because no one should face an empty kitchen.

Happy Easter weekend 🌞 Our Darlington colleagues have been doing a cracking job collecting chocolate eggs for our Easter donation over the last few weeks… 🐣 Together, they collected over 120 eggs, all heading to two incredible local children’s charities - Kane’s World and Young Carers Darlington. For many of the children they support, Easter treats aren’t always a given, so something as simple as an egg can go a long way and give them a reason to smile.

🌸 We’ve had such a great time celebrating International Women’s Day at Magnet 🌸 Across the week we hosted a mix of events that brought people together and really highlighted the amazing women in our business. Highlights included: ✨ Breakfast with our fantastic female CEO ✨ An inspiring panel featuring some of our strong female leaders across the business It was a great chance for everyone to connect, share experiences and talk openly about how we can continue supporting and lifting each other up. We’re also really proud of the progress we’ve made in recent years: • Our mean gender pay gap has dropped by 93% since 2021 • Half of our Executive Leadership Team are now women, including our CEO • More women are stepping into Store Manager roles across our store network International Women’s Day is the perfect moment to celebrate how far we’ve come, while also recognising there’s still more to do. Moving forward Magnet plans to make further actions that create real opportunities for women across the business. 👏

Did you know Magnet has a bespoke development programme designed to help our people grow into future leaders? At Magnet, we’re big believers in developing talent from within. We know some of the best future leaders are already part of our teams, they just need the right support to take that next step. That’s why last year we ran our first Magnet Leadership Programme, a cohort of colleagues who were ready to build their skills, confidence and experience in store leadership. It has been a huge success, with every one of them now stepping into store leadership positions across our UK stores. What’s made it even more exciting is that this group helped shape what comes next. Their feedback and insight have played a huge part in strengthening the programme, and we’re now ready to take it further. This year we’ll be launching our leadership programme business-wide, giving even more colleagues across Magnet the chance to learn, grow and progress their careers.
