Meet Lesley, our amazing colleague who has reached 43 years of service, having joined us in 1983 when we were still Chelsea Girl. Over four decades, she has seen our business evolve, adapt and grow, while building a remarkable career of her own. Her journey highlights something we see time and again: retail careers are full of possibilities. Whether colleagues stay for decades, develop into new roles, or even leave and return later in their careers, every path helps shape who we are. One of the best parts of what we do is seeing the creativity and passion of our team come to life through the work we create together. Last week, we successfully completed our annual Retail Roadshows across London, Manchester, Glasgow, and Dublin. Led by our Retail Director, Mel Aucott, these sessions are always a highlight in our calendar. They provide a valuable opportunity to come together in person with our Store Leaders, reflect on the past year, and align on our strategy for the year ahead. Just as importantly, the roadshows create space for open discussion, questions, and meaningful collaboration across our retail network, bringing colleagues from our stores and head office together. Black Friday at River Island is busy, fast paced and full on. But what really stands out isn’t just the scale of it, it’s the people who make it happen. Across our stores, teams have been giving their all to deliver an incredible experience for customers while supporting each other, staying professional under pressure and keeping the RI spirit alive throughout it all. From early starts and late finishes to adapting on the spot and keeping smiles on faces, the dedication and teamwork on show this week has been something to be proud of. We’re so grateful for our retail teams and the energy, care and resilience they bring every single day, especially during peak periods like this.
