What is a Client Advisor?

Client advisors offer business or investment advice to help guide clients in making critical decisions. They assess risk and suggest strategies designed to minimize or mitigate losses in the event of an unplanned negative event. They develop an in-depth, comprehensive familiarity with the client’s business in order to provide informed assistance. They prepare strategic plans, presentations, and other materials. These advisors may also be accountable for meeting sales quotas or revenue goals.

Client advisors typically have at least a bachelor’s degree in a business or financial field. They have a business background, with specific emphasis on investments and financial advice. These roles often require the advisor to have or obtain a P&C license or other credentials, and a variety of strict background checks and clearances are routine.

Responsibilities for Client Advisor

  • Ensure contract compliance where necessary.
  • Prepare client presentation packages and reporting on client accounts.
  • Prepare, manage and submit sales quotes accurately into the appropriate quote entry system.
  • Assist with quoting, ordering, account management, mailbox and call management, part requests, report generation and order fulfillment.
  • Research technical information on product requests and ensure access to procurement.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships through proactive client communication and actively manage client accounts and the coordinated delivery of services to individuals, families, trusts and foundations.
  • Collaborate with advisors to proactively monitor asset allocation.
  • Proactively monitor and take action to correct fixed income maturities and client overdrafts based on knowledge and history of the client account.
  • Perform cash management functions using software and systems in accordance with established account procedures and applicable fiduciary laws and policies.
