How's your experience been with recruiters?
Any advice to someone who is over 60 retired, but still want to work to supplement the income. I've been looking to work part-time, remotely or in a hybrid setting. I have 20 years of experience in customer service, as a claims assistant, and in administrative support. I've revised my resume about five times and have been on a dozen interviews with no luck.
Best ways to fight ageism? I’m currently debating if I should remove my graduation years from my resume because I’m starting to suspect I’m facing some subtle ageism. I have twenty years of incredible experience, but I’m worried that seeing a graduation date from the early 2000s makes recruiters think I’m too expensive or stuck in my ways before they even look at my achievements.
What are some of the goals you have this week and how are they going now that it’s midweek? I wanted to apply for at least 10 jobs this week, and should be at 6 by now but only at 4. Guess I need to up my game the next 2 days!
I dislike wasting time. I had a phone screen with CVS this morning for a remote data manager position. The pay range was clearly listed within the job description and I clearly stated my range during the application process. The recruiter stated 75k which is beyond ridiculous for managing a team of analysts. I declined to move forward. I know my worth and my resume / background speaks for itself. I wish the recruiter would've paid more attention to my app instead of wasting my time.
I’ve noticed that my sleep schedule has completely drifted over the last two months of being unemployed. I’m now wide awake until 3 AM reading Reddit and updating my spreadsheet, and then I sleep in until 10 AM because there’s no urgent reason to get out of bed. I know it’s a terrible habit that’s probably making my depression worse, but the night time is the only time I don’t feel guilty about not actively looking for work. Is anyone else struggling to maintain a normal schedule?
Mixed. Have had some great interactions that have been productive. Then also experienced ghosting after THEY approached ME. So frustrating! With how difficult the job search already is, I can’t imagine somebody adding more hassle to it.
YES! That one drives me crazy. If you were that busy, why are you still sending out messages? Focus on somebody else because I’m done with you, now 😂
Personally I've been ghosted to many times. Sometimes I'm tempted to reach out and follow up but I hold myself.
