As a leading multinational retailer, with more than 400,000 colleagues, we aim to serve customers every day with affordable, healthy and sustainable food – to help them enjoy a better quality of life and an easier way of living. Founded in 1919 by Jack Cohen using the £30 he received on leaving the Royal Flying Corp, we’ve come a long way from his small market stall in East London. Today over 300,000 colleagues work across our stores, offices, distribution and customer engagement centres in the UK, Europe and Asia. Share our passion for the people, products and places that make us great, and we can offer opportunities to get on with the right support to develop your skills. McDonald’s is proud to be one of the most recognized brands in the world, with restaurants in over 100 countries and billions of customers served each year. As the global leader in the food service industry, we have a legacy of innovation and hard work that continues to drive us. Today, we are growing with velocity and are focused on modernizing our experiences, not to make a different McDonald’s but to build a better McDonald’s. About 80% of the restaurants are run by franchisees or affiliates.

At Co-op, we promise to do right by you. And you, and her and him and them. We’re not owned by a wealthy few – as one of the world’s largest consumer co-operatives, we’re owned by and run for our members. We're the UK’s fifth biggest food retailer with more than 2,500 local, convenience and medium sized stores. We’re also the nation’s number one funeral services provider, a major insurer, and a growing legal services business. Co-op was born from a different set of values, and we’re driven by a different set of decisions. We were founded in 1844 by the Rochdale Pioneers – a group of tradesmen who wanted to address inequality and unfairness in their society. Their early Co-op created the principles on which the millions of modern co-operatives all over the world today are run. So, we’ve been doing right by people for over 180 years. And while the world has changed, our values, principles and pioneering spirit remain the same. We continue to have a positive impact on the communities we serve thanks to our 54,000 colleagues, each of whom can become a member and part owner of our unique business. When you join us, you’ll find Co-op is a place with purpose, where you’ll get a say in how things are run, opportunities to support your community and a share of the profits when you help us grow. We’ll welcome you, care for you and empower you at work. And we’ll give you the perks and the tools you need to thrive, both personally and professionally.

Over 150 years old and still going strong, we’re the UK’s second-biggest retailer. Every day, the nation shops with us because they know they’ll get affordable, good food and excellent service. We focus on great value and convenient shopping across our family of brands, from Argos, Nectar and Habitat to Sainsbury’s Bank, Smart Charge and Tu. What’s next for Sainsbury’s? We've put food back at the heart of our business and we’re taking Sainsbury’s to the next level. We’re investing in technology and people and we’re thinking bigger about how we attract and connect with our customers, while doing everything we can to create a more resilient UK food system.

In 1952 Colonel Harland Sanders opened the first KFC restaurant in Utah. Since then, his perfectly crafted Original Recipe chicken and its secret recipe of 11 herbs and spices has become famous all over the world, and today we have over 900 restaurants across the UK and Ireland. The Colonel was all about doing things the right way. That means our chicken is delivered fresh from farm to restaurant in 48 hours. It’s prepared carefully by hand in-restaurant by trained cooks, using the very best chicken reared to strict welfare standards. But we’re not just about the chicken (although ours is always Finger Lickin’ Good). We’re also about making a positive social and environmental impact – which includes becoming a net-zero business, helping people get a foot on the work ladder, caring for our communities, and offering balanced food choices. At KFC, there’s more Behind the Bucket than you think. KFC came to the UK in 1965, opening our first restaurant in Preston. Today, we are a £1 billion+ company with 960 restaurants and 28,000+ team members. KFC is one of 5 brands operated by parent company Yum!, the world’s largest restaurant group with over 50,000 restaurants across the globe. Despite being a large, global organisation, we operate under a de-centralised structure with our UK business having autonomy over business/people strategy. KFC is famous around the world for its Original Recipe Fried Chicken – but there’s more behind the bucket than you think. We like to think of ourselves as a ‘people business’, that just happens to sell chicken and chips. We believe in doing things ‘the right way’. It isn’t always easy, but it’s always better. It’s what the Colonel believed back in 1952, and it’s what we still believe in now. In not cutting corners. In hand-breading our chicken in store, all day, every day. In caring about the food we serve, and the people we serve it too. And most importantly, in looking after our people. The Colonel’s story still inspires us today. It reminds us how grit, perseverance, dedication and ambition, along with hard work, can create success; regardless of your age or where you come from. We believe our purpose as an employer is to help our people find their own ‘secret recipe’ in life. We empower people to be their best self, make a difference and have fun.
