It was very much technical and process oriented, They expected that candidate must be strong in the fundamentals and explain to them in a clean and clear way. two rounds of technical interview followed by a HR. A face to face round is also happened.
I applied through college or university. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Cognizant (Chennai) in Jun 2025
Interview
I applied through my university, and the recruitment process typically spans around 10 days, consisting of three major stages: an initial online test, followed by a technical interview, and concluding with an HR interview.

Question 1
some questions on java and some questions related to cyber security
ECognizant had off-campus hiring on their platform superset. The company came with two domains - Data Science and Cyber Security. I applied for the Cyber Security one around January 24. It had an online assessment round comprising of basic aptitude, reasoning, and verbal. Any student with a bit of decent prep should be able to crack it.
Later, it was followed by a communication round. Make sure to prepare well mentally for this one. Have a good headset, a silent background around you, and ensure the volume is really high in your headset, because at times the volume is suddenly dropped for a few audios, either technically or due to the accent.
It was followed by a simple technical interview. Since I was from the Cyber Security background, the questions asked were pretty basic - about my projects, some encryption methodologies, algorithms, and a simple hashing program in Java. The interview went pretty smoothly, and I received the selection status after about 2 months. About 2 were shortlisted from my college.
