      Operations Manager Interview

      May 28, 2024
      Anonymous employee
      Notting Hill, England
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at David Lloyd Clubs (Notting Hill, England) in Aug 2021

      Interview

One initial “get to know you” interview and a further “assessment”. The assessment consisted of attending the club and then having a discussion about what strengths/weaknesses there are, how I would improve them and general management discussions. The whole interview process was a joke, there was no specific criteria to discern different applicants and the only basis for hiring me was on my “character”. This extends beyond the job I applied to and subsequently was promoted using no formal process at all. This clearly creates a culture where managers hire candidates based on objective feelings rather than on measurable competencies; resulting in a diversity and inclusion crisis. Not a professional place to work whatsoever.

How do you manage difficult employees.
