Did the phone screening for Senior Backend Engineer. They explicitly said I'd get feedback regardless of the outcome.
Got rejected the next day with the most generic response I've ever received - "your qualifications are commendable", "competitive process", "not a reflection of your abilities". Pure template nonsense that could apply to literally anyone.
Asked for actual feedback, since this was promised in the call and I was honestly confused at how you can reject a candidate based off a screen. Ghosted.
Looking at other reviews, multiple people report being ghosted after first-stage interviews. Seems like HIVED started sending these AI-generated rejection emails to avoid "ghosting" complaints on Glassdoor, but it's functionally the same thing. You're not getting any real feedback.
If you're going to promise feedback, either deliver it or don't make the promise. This middle ground where you pretend to give feedback whilst saying absolutely nothing is worse than just being honest about not providing it.

Question 1
Standard screening questions: why do you want to work at HIVED? What's a project you've worked on recently? What is a complex technical challenge you've solved?
