I had a video screening call with a polite recruiter, who asked questions about my experience mostly focusing on the onboarding experience. There was no eye contact so it didn't feel natural. He was mostly focusing on making notes rather than keeping a conversation flowing naturally. Unfortunately, I got an email two days later saying they will not move me forward for the Implementation Manager role. Fair enough as I didn't apply for this role but the Customer Success Manager position. In a nutshell, did the interviewer proceed with screening for a completely different role I didn't apply to? If that's the level of interview preparation, it feels like a waste of time. I probably dogded a bullet there. Not the best look for the comapany and its HR team.
