Interview
very, very corporate don't expect anyone to have a smile on their face unless it was requested by upper management in a memo. I absolutely love cars and always have but strangely if you talk in the interview about how much you like cars they will look at you as if you are crazy It's a car company why in the interview is it taboo to express your passion for the car industry?

They asked me questions about my previous experience with WPF and .NET. Then one of the interviewers continued with OOP questions such as: what is an abstract, encapsulation, polymorphism etc..
They wanted to know how can I contribute to their WPF application.

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at McLaren Group (London, England) in May 2019
Interview
Overall positive experience. The role was within McLaren Applied Technologies, in the delloite alliance.
Stages:
- recruiter screening phone call
- 1 way video interview. This was the worst part of the process. Had to answer 10 questions. Very old-fashioned way of interviewing.
- Coding test, do it at your own time (average difficulty). This was probably the best-most interesting coding test I have done in a hiring process. It was very well prepared - they have invested a lot of time on it. Kudos!
- On site final stage. 4 hour session with 3 other people (engineering manager, software engineer, and architect). This included system design interview (present a design I have worked on), live coding exercising (on whiteboard), cultural fit discussions.
Overall everyone was friendly, however I got the feeling that they were not enthusiastic about the stuff they were working on. I was not sold on the projects and the prospects of the role and thus declined the offer they made.
