I applied online. I interviewed at The Good Feet Store (Chicago, IL) in May 2026
Interview
I spoke to a recruiter for 30 mins. She said that there would be five different rounds including an in store visit, speak to DM/VP of sales to confirm interest. She explained that training would be either be an hour away, or out of state. Are you ok with travel? Starting pay was well below normal rate of pay for an experienced and successful sales manager with a “promise” of commissions that exceeded it. I’m waiting on the next round and a call back.

Interview
Extremely long, repetitive, and frustrating. I went through 4-5 rounds of interviews which is not typical for a company with a low scale pay for an entry level position. During one of my virtual interviews, the woman never joined so a person from another district stepped in and was obviously unprepared. The day of my in person interview, I was in the store for 3 hours because I was scheduled on a day where no one else was working aside from the manager. Everyone that I spoke with was positive and making it appear as though I was a perfect fit. I was surprised that I had gone through so much to receive a rejection letter, so I reached out to my recruiter for feedback seeing as she called and texted me almost daily. Nevertheless, I was ignored. I regret applying and allowing my time to be wasted at the level it was. Seemingly sweet people, no organization, and every interviewer asks the same questions. Very bizarre and discouraging experience.

Interview
After reviewing the initial application, a recruiter or store manager may contact candidates for a brief phone screening. This conversation typically covers:
• Basic work experience and education
• Availability and interest in the position
• Understanding of The Good Feet Store’s products and values
Next will be an In-Person or Virtual Interview
Candidates who pass the phone screening are invited for a more in-depth interview, either in person or virtually. The interview panel may include the store manager and other team members. Common topics and activities include:
• Behavioral interview questions (e.g., describing a time handling a difficult customer)
• Role-play scenarios related to sales and customer interactions
• Discussion of product knowledge and passion for helping others
• Questions about teamwork, motivation, and career goals
Followed by an Assessment and Skills Evaluation
Depending on the location, candidates may be asked to complete a short skills assessment or demonstrate their ability to engage with customers. This can involve:
• Simulated customer consultations
• Explaining the benefits of arch supports
• Showcasing effective communication and sales techniques
The last step is a Final Interview and Offer
After the main interview, top candidates may meet with upper management for a final discussion. This is an opportunity to ask questions about work culture, compensation, and advancement. If selected, the candidate will receive a formal job offer, which includes details about pay, benefits, and training.
