I was asked to submit a letter stating why I wanted to work there
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at The Week Publications (New York, NY) in Apr 2022
Interview
The ad said to submit the application materials to a recruiter, which I did. We hopped on a call the next day, and they asked me to provide more writing samples. A couple of weeks later, I was told they went forward with candidates with very niche experience, a type that wasn't requested in the job description.
Incidentally, a week or two after that I saw the exact same ad posted anew. I guess they don't know how to state what they want.
