Reached out to by a recruiter. Did a recruiter phone screen. Did a pointless and stupid online assessment with a complex SQL query and data annotations in .NET. Did a hiring manager interview. Then did an on site interview with the hiring manager and 2 engineers. Was relatively normal, but not a great vibe ... kind of mildly aggressive and condescending, kind of gotcha like. I've done plenty of interviews where mature, experienced interviewers, who are neither burnt out nor miserable, leave the candidate with a positive impression and it is enjoyable, regardless of whether they thought the candidate was great or terrible. This was not quite that. A lot of interruptions, some truly bad questions and weird moments like asking to explain everything that happens in a web request, then interrupting when I started with button click, fetch, network request, and they tried to redirect because they wanted something else apparently, yet being unable or unwilling to be more specific about what they were asking.
