How would you explain what you do for work? We sometimes avoid saying "I work in insurance" because people's perceptions of the industry are stuck in the past. If we want to change the perceptions of our industry, we need to change the way we talk about it. Take Mark, he could have saved a lot of money on potted plants and khaki shorts if he'd just shared his pride and purpose a little sooner 🪴 Because it's not all about selling policies, it's about giving our customers the confidence that we'll be there when they need us. It's about the person who's just had their first car accident and doesn't know what to do. The person who's had a life-changing diagnosis and needs someone caring to guide them through the next steps. The person whose small business has flooded and they need help to get back up and running ASAP. We're there for all of them when the unexpected happens. Not everyone learns the same way. Leanne was one of the 55 AXA UK colleagues to complete apprenticeships in 2025. ADHD can make traditional learning environments challenging, so for Leanne, the flexibility and dedicated support of an apprenticeship at AXA gave her the opportunity to learn on her own terms 👇🏻 "Systems aren’t always built for brains that work differently. I have ADHD, and because of that, I haven’t always got along well with traditional academic learning. But the flexibility and support that you get from an apprenticeship has transformed my learning experience and opened up new possibilities for me. I achieved my Recruitment Consultant Level 3 Apprenticeship with Distinction while working as a Talent Acquisition Consultant. It gave me all the fundamentals of recruitment and will help to me to recruit top talent into the insurance industry.” Starting my apprenticeship was daunting, but the confidence I've gained in my role over the last 12 months was worth every needless worry I had.
