The Learning Support Centre provides a range of specialist disability support services that are tailored to the individual needs of our clients.
Our services include: one to one specialist tuition, coaching, mentoring, notetaking, transcription services, assistive technology training, personal assistants and personal care.
Our role is to support our service users in accessing education and the workplace as well as provide general support with day to day living. Clients may include people with physical or sensory disabilities, people with neurological conditions (e.g. dyslexia) and people with mental health issues, who wish to develop and enhance their skills for study and work.
Before we match a support worker with a client, a plan for the support and/or care is drawn up in consultation with the client. At this stage, clear expectations are outlined to ensure the support is delivered appropriately and expectations of the service are realistic.
Young Epilepsy is the national charity supporting children and young people aged 25 and under with epilepsy and associated conditions, as well as their families.
The charity exists to improve the lives of children and young people with the condition to enable them to fulfill their potential and ensure they have the best quality of life.
By driving excellence in social care, innovating in employability, and leading ground-breaking campaigns led by our self-advocates, Enable has established itself as one of the country’s leading charities, championing diversity, equity and inclusion for seven decades.
Those visionary families who founded our charity in 1954 were determined that their children who had learning disabilities would not be institutionalised and would have the opportunity and support to live the life they choose.
For us, an equal society means everyone has the right to live in the community of their choice, where they can access their human rights to participate as active and respected citizens through work, friends, and relationships. We believe that an equal society is realised when all of the assets of all individuals are fully utilised.
Enable Cares supports over 1,000 people to live independently in the community through our PA (Personal Assistant) Model of human rights-driven self-directed support.
Enable Works supports people who are facing barriers to employment to obtain and sustain high quality and rewarding careers.
Enable Communities is the beating heart of the charity, with our local projects and commitment to self-advocacy supporting people who have a learning disability to be heard and listened to at all levels of government.
