StarCompliance was founded in 1999 to address a pressing problem for the financial services industry—helping enterprise financial firms deal with an unprecedented increase in the number regulations globally, and the resulting complexity involved in managing conflicts of interest amongst large, transnational workforces. Star's solution was the STAR Platform—automated financial compliance software that lets compliance teams reduce firm risk while increasing team efficiency. Over the last twenty years, Star has continued to answer the compliance-software market's need with two additional software solutions: the STAR Mobile app and Compliance Control Room.
