Pros

A company that was born international. The scope and exposure to people and projects from around the world gives so much diverse experience. This is the type of business if you are ambitious, passionate and happy to get stuck in, then career progression will happen for you. They encourage, reward and celebrate great results.

Cons

It is a really big company, so when changes are needed to happen at a global level, the process can take a bit of time. Lots of people involved and to manage.

Pros

They have this desks which you can put up and down.

Cons

Bulling is the second name of the culture in BAT. People are humiliated, mistreated, and unappreciated. There're leadership absence and very concerning culture gap. They moved people from countries like Malaysia, Russia, Turkey, Venezuela to the HQ and gave them leadership positions without preparing them for cultural differences and teaching them British and European values. It results in the culture of bullying and treating people like slaves. Moreover, their business model is far from ideal. They're completely not ready for the market shift and product pipeline change. Imagine rusty mad man sitting in the old chair, smoking cigar and claiming that the world outside is as cheesy as his mindset. That's BAT. Without modern, effective WoW, processes and governance in place. Without transparency, open communication. People are promoted because they are the part of the cliques or are easy to control, not because they are competent and successful in their roles. Learning is a insult in BAT. Toxic politics is the king. If you're desperate and lacking basic intelligence you should definitely apply to BAT! Wise and intelligent people are escaping the boat now so there'll be some free vacancies very soon.

Pros

The only reason is for the money. BAT used to care about its employees but not anymore.

Cons

Let's start with the basics, is a shrinking company that promises to increase dividends every year no matter the cost. The solution identified is very simple: cost reduction. - Every year there is a project called Quantum that puts you at notice so you can apply for your own position, this generates a terrible atmosphere. - Apart from that, roles are being moved overseas on a daily basis. - Now BAT is suspending salary adjustments even with an amazing year in order to profiteering from the COVID situation. - For those who remain, the workload is insane and you are expected to work 12 hours a day in order to achieve the targets set - High-level management now uses very low-level tactics that if you don't deliver unachievable targets you will be part of the next wave of redundancies. - Next point is the complete lack of planning before these role movements, it is kind of normal to have employees leaving the company and then a consulting firm doing the same job but at a higher price, just for the management of the area show he was able to reduce some number of FTEs even if spending more money. - If you are coming from abroad, make sure to include a stabilization clause on your contract. I saw too many times people moving from other countries to the UK on a working visa just to be made redundant 1 after, even with very good performance ratings. - Finally, in an act to spit in the face of employees and show how committed to cost reductions the company is, the CEO switched his company car from a BMW to a Bentley.
