At a company social event, a senior leader behaved in a way that felt exclusionary and undermining toward those outside their inner circle. This was followed the next day by the same individual rudely interrupting a presentation I was delivering in order to hold a prolonged side discussion with other attendees, which was both disruptive and dismissive. Together, these experiences raised concerns about leadership standards, inclusivity, and psychological safety. The apparent tolerance of this behaviour at senior levels suggests deeper cultural issues and a lack of effective safeguarding for employees.
