Pros

Struggling a little bit here, but for sake of answering - breakfast and nice lunch provided

Cons

Checkout used to be a dream job couple of years ago where team work was key, culture was valued, knowledge was shared, everyone had everyone’s back, the bar was set at a high level, there was meritocracy…but it is absolutely not the case now. If you are looking for any of those values/culture, checkout is not the place. However, if you are good at drama and politics, you will love it. If you happen to play it well, you might even be recognised/promoted irrespective of performance. Previous mass hiring to show big headcount went completely wrong. Now we are scared to go to work wondering when it might be the last day. No one knows what they are doing, trial and error is the motto. Processes, guidelines, structure, everything changes constantly - and this is considered absolutely normal in a company of this size. But wait….what about stability, solid processes, strong products and scale to growth?? People are just fighting/bad mouthing each other for continuance. Product wise - no comments, we were expecting much more from a Fintech in terms of automation. Lots of travel still happening despite ask to be careful in terms of cost. Mental health and well-being is just for name sake. Lots of discussion around increasing revenue, but we think this starts from Commercial team. Experienced salesperson are busy managing teams, and those team members are either still learning or don’t understand what they are doing. At this stage, it looks like there are 2 groups of people - one which is actively looking for other jobs and the other one waiting for tax free salary further to lay off/headcount reduction/flatter structure/less layers of people (however you may call it). Either way….stay away

Pros

- Great community of people who truly want the best for the company - Breakfast, lunch and snacks provided - Good benefits (dental insurance, private Vitality medical care etc) - Macbooks - Loads of societies and sport clubs

Cons

- Senior management is driving the bad culture. They are asking the right questions but there is no action and no accountability taken. - Senior management portray this image of listening to managers and division leaders, however all complaints and suggestions fall on death ears. - Really high turnover in some areas of the business (especially Finance, Product) - All bets were placed on Crypto and now the business has ran out of cash. No socials, no travel, no fun. They make you work incredibly hard and there is no reward - Recent scandals were not communicated to the company and instead were found out via the media by most employees. On the same day, 100 layoffs were announced which distracted from the scandal. This was deliberate and shady - Undercover layoffs were performed over the summer and masked as "performance driven". Not true. They just needed to cut expenses - No consideration for work/life balance and people in some areas are expected to consistently work until 10pm What was a great company with great culture, turned into a chaotic nightmare. This is a glamorised Revolut. Going to consider leaving as this is not worth anyone's time.
