Pros

None. Even the food is trash.

Cons

Checkout is subtly racist. People form opinions about you before you even step into the room. From then on it's a uphill battle. If you're a black man avoid Checkout.

Pros

None - soul crushing company rife with bullying and little clubs that you aren’t in.

Cons

All the cons. From bullying to nepotism. Headcount is managed with pips and firing rather than sensible recruitment. They foster an environment of throwing people under the bus.

Pros

"Free lunch" that is a taxable benefit, so you are paying for it in the end.

Cons

Working at Checkout.com is a masterclass in toxic management. If you are reading positive ratings on this page, take them with a grain of salt, because generating fake Glassdoor reviews is literally an internal OKR used to artificially mask the burnout and high turnover. The CEO literally quotes Batman while referring to employees as a "human operating system". You are viewed as machinery, not a person. Insane workload and intense pressure, but with mid-market pay. You are expected to handle a huge workload, constantly sprinting toward arbitrary deadlines for projects that are routinely abandoned weeks later. While the rest of us gets a 10% bonus, the leadership team gets 40% instead. Don't rely on the stock options either; it's effectively monopoly money with no IPO in sight. Even the "free" lunch is a trap, it's a taxable benefit that actually rinses your pay check, designed solely to tether you to the building so you work through your breaks. The CEO once say "If you don't like it here, leave" at an all hands meeting. They track your attendance too. There's a lack of psychological safety all around. Bullying is common, and people are so toxic. Serious misconduct goes entirely unchecked. When highly credible allegations of sexual harassment involving CHRO are swept under the rug, it tells you everything you need to know about the company's moral compass. Add in the tax-dodging billionaire CEO, and you have a culture operating entirely without ethics. Meetings aren't for collaboration; they are public forums for senior staff to bully, talk over, and belittle colleagues. You aren’t led here, you are managed by people who view empathy as a weakness.
