Pros

Decent pay and good benefits Visa sponsorship and relocation help Recognised brand and good for your CV A lot of really great people from all over the world Tech is pretty bleeding edge and most processes work excellently at the scale they’re operating Possible team moves and horizontal positions

Cons

This rigid RTO policy where your attendance is tracked and you don’t even get to choose your days felt more important to the senior leadership than the actual output Work on some teams was lacking direction and strategy A bit of a “big brother” style culture but I guess it’s common at this scale

Pros

- Ownership at all levels for all parties - Support for growth at all levels - Very smart people all around - Fast paced - Thriving business - Great visibility across the industry - Interesting and challenging problems to solve tech-wise and product-wise - Great transparent rewards, benefits and bonus package - Learning runs in each cell of the company - CKO principles are genuinely meant, practiced and evangelized, eg: Customer-First, Better, every day, etc. - Very transparent, high functioning and efficient management - Constant feedback and learning - Free food - Regular socials - Big clients (Netflix, ebay, agoda, klarna, you name it.....) - Satisfaction to see your work impacting millions across the globe

Cons

- Sometimes, in a big organization it is very hard to normalize the engineering culture and managers could become bottlenecks or the pain points. If there was something that checkout could improve, it is to become great across all pillars and functions - There are some bad apples from the past - The balance between fast paced deliveries and engineering excellence could improve across all pillars

Pros

Modern stack, interesting domain, company culture.

Cons

A lot of organisational changes make stress and don't allow focus on goals, poor documentation, lack of communication between teams, legacy, lack of vision of the future (nobody knows what happens in next 3 months)
