Thank you for providing your positive thoughts on the nature of our business. We are sorry to hear that you have some concerns around pay, diversity and work life balance. In terms of compensation, we aims to provide competitive total compensation and we also strive to offer a good benefits package to all our employees; as with most companies, pay is linked to personal and company performance Christie’s is a seasonal company that by nature is fast-paced and exciting. Therefore, volumes of workload will vary. Our overtime policies ensure we remunerate colleagues for these fluctuations in workload. If you are feeling overwhelmed by your workload or working pattern, please speak to your line manager; alternatively, please contact your regional HR office directly. Concerning diversity, we are a global company, it is our aim that our workforce reflects our global image. We are also extremely proud of our gender diversity and are working hard to ensure that our ethnic diversity is also reflective of broader society. Our Diversity and Inclusion Committee is committed to achieving this objective. Christie’s strives to support its staff both inside and outside of work; our policies around pregnancy, maternity, shared parental and adoption leave, aim to achieve this objective. Our “Family Friendly Return to Work” initiative is an industry leading policy that ensures our employees are fully supported once they are ready to return to work after the birth/adoption of a child. We are continually reviewing areas of improvement within the business. We recently rolled out a Culture Survey which was responded to by over 80% of our employees, globally. The survey highlighted multiple positive aspects of working life at Christie’s, but also showed some areas for improvement. have set up focus groups and created action plans to try and continually enhance the environment we work in, including around how we communicate with each other and operational issues. Thank you for providing feedback. We take your comments seriously and will make sure these issues are raised. Kindest regards, Christie’s HR Team

Pros

Amazing dynamic young people - I met some of my oldest friends here :) Beautiful art and design & the opportunity to view and learn about rare/unique pieces Surrounded by intelligent experts in the field Great for learning how to multi-task and how to deal with very difficult customers

Cons

Slow career trajectory Incorrect hiring practice - hiring based on birth, gender, age / hiring PHD candidates for entry level roles with no job growth Old Boys Club mentality in certain departments Focus on hierarchy and "not my job" mentality stunts growth for employees and business alike Awful technology to support internal processes despite spending billions of dollars on new systems a few years ago Difficult to implement change in process anywhere un the company Poor management training meaning that new managers struggle and often decrease efficiency Very low salaries

Thank you for providing your positive thoughts on the culture here at Christie's. We are sorry to hear that you find our recruitment practices incorrect - we are a global company, it is our aim that our workforce reflects our global image. We are also extremely proud of our gender diversity. We also strive to create a meritocratic culture, where people are recognised for their skills and ability and not for their connections - we have a performance review process to help us assess employee’s contributions and award them appropriately. In regards to technology, Christie's have invested a lot of money on their IT systems - tweaking these systems to meet our unique needs will be an on-going process. We have recently conducted an Employee Engagement Survey and we have robust plans in place to improve communication and other issues within the business. Thank you for taking the time to leave a response, we will make sure all your comments are considered carefully. Best wishes, Christie's HR London
