Pros

Hybrid working/flexibility A few years ago this list would have been long, but right now I can't think of any other pros.

Cons

The organisation has moved to the product model with inadequate preparation, limited expertise and a complete lack of planning. The whole of CIDO is now flailing around with no clear way of getting out of the mess that has been created, while delivery has stalled and the leadership are blithely sending out false positivity and refusing to acknowledge or take responsibility for the huge mistake they have made. The CIDO environment has become utterly toxic and staff are leaving in droves with no sign of this slowing. I honestly thought that I'd remain at the Coventry for a long time; I have no immediate plans to leave but as the pressure mounts and workloads increase for those of us who are left I'm fairly sure that this will change.

Pros

The work is easy as it so slow paced. Lots of great people.

Cons

CBS decided to do a call to arms to get positive reviews on glassdoor due to the poor reviews they were having and the difficulties they were having at recruitment. This should be enough of a statement about how bad it is working at CBS. The tech and working practices are out of date. There is a massive clique culture of an old guard and now an ex Severn Trent group. This makes progression very difficult unless your face fits. Poor managers who are very poorly trained and allowed to show many negative traits. Oncall is a complete mess and they keep avoid sorting it out as its a massive mess. If your a favourite you can avoid it otherwise your out of luck. People are allowed to avoid BAU work as their managers have clear favourites and are allowed to do whatever they choose. Managers are fixated on getting people back into the office as CBS like to be able to see people in the office rather than any other need. There is a lack of diversity at CBS and most of the senior BAME members have left. They signed up to the race at work charter but wont publish any data as they know its awful and only play lip service to these things. They will claim its a safe space but they removed anonymous questions due to getting too many hard questions and wanted to ensure they got easier questions.

Appauling Management Cliques

Pros

Flexible, remote working, canteen, lots of parking.

Cons

Interactions with management of incident management team. Very distressing. Management cliques in IT meaning bullying concerns from the majority fall on deaf ears. Major lack of diversity in senior management, which is likely the cause of no action taken against bullies. They say to come and talk to them about bullying and then do nothing when you open up!! The CBS culture in IT and the wider business varies massively. The wider business appears a better place to work.
