Great brand and offices but soulless
Pros
Great brand reputation. Good for CV / job future. World-class offices (albeit London, Birmingham only).
Cons
Workforce consists of 80% graduates (<21 year olds) labelled as 'Consultants' when they don't know a thing. Client projects are then lead by a competent Manager grade and packed out with 4+ of these graduates who just bill to the project. Manager does all the client work and has to train (nanny) the grads in the process. Yes you can make 'Partner' in 12 years but this is rare, and you have to play the game, be constantly visible, have perfect utilisation and billings, and have the right face. Promotion to even senior manager grade has a huge internal panel interview phase where you have to make a 'business case' for promotion competing against others. Being a highly competent SME isn't enough. It's all about faces and access to existing Partners for visibility. Be prepared for 70+ hour weeks as standard. Bonus is rubbish compared to law firms or banking.
