Pros

Nothing good comes from working here

Cons

The job advertisements state 200£ a day so you sign up thinking that's good pay (you never get 200!). You get the job immediately as they are so short on staff you don't even get interviewed (people are always leaving and the ones working complain about how bad the job is, 3 people on my 1st day). You get told you will be paid for your 1 day training with another driver (a lie, you don't) so you just spend 12+ hours helping another driver. İ started at 6am on my training day and got home around 8pm(14 hour day, no pay) You are told you need a van if you don't have one so you have to rent one from 7 days, 40£ taxi to pick it up and when you pick it up you can't work as you are too late to start but you are still paying rental fee for the day £40. Your manager tells you "don't worry you are not charged for the days you don't work" another lie, you are charged for EVERY day. You buy phone holding equipment for the van as the device they give you must be on charge at all times as the battery dies in about an hour unplugged and if it does you can't work. You must also charge your own phone for directions. Another 50£ at Halfords for phone holders cables etc. Then you put petrol in, you must pay for your own of course, 60£ half tank. You've now spent £190 or so before you even start. You start the next day, 6am load your van if the packages are ready, if not you must wait. You get your device from the miserable management who seem to hate the drivers. You are told it's your first day so you won't have as many parcels, you still get 120 drops. you are NOT told that this is actually half pay. İt still takes you 12 hours as it's your first day and you're in a town centre. I got a parking ticket as well. -35£ You work 5 days of the week totalling 60 hours maybe more. Get your invoice and you think it's going to be £1,000. I'm not joking the invoice is for£197.00 . Got 5 days of work and 60 hours I was paid ONE HUNDRED AND 97 pounds . This works out to £3 an hour. You are deducted your rental fee and also deducted a fee for missing delivery slots even though this has never been explained to you and no exception even if you are new. Every driver gets this deduction. You have also put in at least another 80£ of petrol for the week as your delivery area is 50 miles away from the depot meaning you've barely made 100£ for the week. I call the manger who told me over the phone that full shifts are 200 and reduced package shifts are 150. I ask for this in writing but am then told when I get my invoice that the actual pay is 180 and 130. Manager is a serial liar! I hand back the van it has a scratch on the wheel arch. I'm charged 400£ even though it happened whilst parked up overnight. I quit after 5 days. I've made 197£ but have spent 160 in petrol. 160 on taxis and petrol and am charged 400 for damage I did not do. I'm now out of pocket -£523. Honestly you have to laugh because 7 days and DX are honestly just robbing desperate people trying to make a living. My advice. Stay WELL CLEAR and if you still want to do it, don't trust a word manager says as he gets paid to keep you working no matter what conditions or pay you get. Oh and you're also told" no-one takes a break" by Manager so you must eat whilst you drive and you do, which I'm sure it's against some sort of law. Good luck!

Pros

- Self employed so you can take any days off as you please (must work minimum 4 days a week, weekends are gaurenteed as alot only want mon-fri) - Diverse teams including female drivers - Opportunity to travel around when cover is needed out of other sites - Opportunity to do a different range of jobs within your own contract which enhances CV from the skills (i.e. delivering, on site manager, pick ups from businesses that sell on amazon, training new drivers) - If we require a van, nothing is older than 2017, most of them are 2020/2021 - Starting us out on a smaller van to get used to the job really helps boost confidence before moving to a larger one (if you want one) - Lots of happy and friendly customers during the day! :)

Cons

- Delivering for Amazon who are insanly demanding at times - The recruitment process needs to make sense as there is a huge staff turn around with amazon DAs in general, but also some don't even make it past training before leaving - Pay could be better with rising costs of fuel especially (that's directed to amazon who forward the pay to us via our company)! - The van rental stings which actually puts alot of new drivers off at £200/week
