Pros

Option for 100% remote work, you never have to go into an office unless there is a client or workshop which requires travel. “Take what you need PTO” while not “unlimited PTO” allows for a very flexible work schedule. Bounteous is actually trying to be inclusive and accepting. 90% of the people at Bounteous are some of the best, smarted, kindest, and most hardworking people I’ve ever worked with.

Cons

Bounteous acquired too many companies, too fast and never figured out how to integrate. I feel bad for the next one because it doesn’t seem like anyone learned lessons from the last one. Now the company is a mix of several smaller companies and too many people are vying for power while the old guard leadership seem to be looking for exits or keeping the status quo. They haven’t managed to get on track and it’s been 18 months of layoffs and deferred raises. Their salary bands are not what they actually pay people and when challenged on it they say they can’t bring every up to where they “should be” in the salary bands all at once so we all just have to wait to slowly get there. With deferred raises it is unlikely many will spend the time needed in a role to get to the range in their salary band that matches their experience and value they bring to the company. Missed revenue targets seem to be a repeating theme which leads to the question of if leaders know how to set revenue targets and how to manage a company that they grew through acquisitions. Health care got a downgrade in 2023 and HR gaslit everyone until enough people showed the receipts to prove that the care was worse and since then HR has just said “deal with it this is what you get”. Bonuses aren’t a thing for lower level employees so if your project does well, your account is healthy, and the company is doing well you don’t get any reward for your part in all that. With salary bands being what they are, there isn’t much incentive to work hard unless you are in middle management or above. They talk about how important diversity is but if you look at senior leadership it is predominantly male and predominantly white. A bunch of middle age white guys talking about how important diversity in the workplace is.

Pros

There are some good projects to work on, many clients who want to do cutting edge work and you might get to work on one. Still a lot of good people and remnants of culture from before the merger with Accolite flattened everything. Good PTO policy for those in North America.

Cons

Terrible at change management. The concept barely exists. They often defer raise cycles if budgets aren’t on target so if you work hard and keep your account on track you don’t get rewarded. The last raise cycle was Q1 2025 and there was supposed to be another in Q3 ‘26 but it’s been moved to maybe in Q3. This was after the same thing happened in ‘24 after being told that there would be two raise/promotion cycles a year. Can’t trust leadership to set a budget that includes raises, even after a year of growth in ‘25 no raises in ‘26. Most of the workforce is in India so if you are in the western US you will be expected to start your day by 7am, and HR is always scheduling “North America” trainings at 7am PT. If you are in India you are pretty much expected to work until 9pm. EVERYTHING is AI but you can’t get access to tools and then you get notes for using too many tokens if you try to use it. No rollouts, no trainings, no one knows what’s going on. There is no bench so if your project ends and another doesn’t start right away you’ll get laid off.
