Cons

Bad communication between departments made issues more complicated than needed. Senior management not the best.

Pros

I did not enjoy any aspect of my time at Clear Business.

Cons

This was one of the most toxic workplaces I have experienced. The role was advertised as account management and hybrid working, but the reality was very different. The position was largely cold calling using poor-quality data, making targets feel unrealistic from the outset. Employees were expected to achieve over 150 dials per day alongside more than 3 hours of talk time, with little consideration given to balancing one metric against the other. Management relied heavily on fear and pressure rather than coaching and support. Team members were regularly criticised, singled out, and spoken to in a disrespectful manner. It was common to hear colleagues described as "stupid" or "idiots", creating an environment where people felt demoralised rather than motivated. I raised a formal grievance regarding inappropriate and discriminatory comments made by my manager. The grievance investigation confirmed concerns about comments that had been made, but I saw little evidence of meaningful accountability or cultural change afterwards. The company's approach to hybrid working was also disappointing. Although the role was advertised as hybrid, employees often had to push repeatedly for even a single day working from home. When requests were approved, it often felt as though management expected gratitude for simply honouring part of the advertised job description. Performance management was frequently used as a threat. Employees could be warned about performance improvement plans only a few days into a new month despite having several weeks remaining to achieve their targets. This created unnecessary stress and encouraged short-term pressure rather than sustainable performance. Following my departure, the company stated that paying me for work I had already completed was a "goodwill gesture". Being paid for work already performed is a basic contractual and legal obligation, not a discretionary benefit. Overall, I found the culture to be unsupportive, intimidating and heavily target-driven, with little regard for employee wellbeing or development.
