Pros
Trying to be objective, it is extremely difficult to identify any company pros other than the hourly rate of pay is slightly higher than that of other Ground Handling Companies at Gatwick Airport
Cons
DHL took over a ground handling contact at Gatwick Airport 15 months ago under the promise of a company that listen's and values it's employees. 15 months on, and from a front line employee view, that claim couldn't be further from the truth. Their IT system for trying to book holiday's is awful The Planning Dept is extremely unhelpful when trying to arrange a roster change even for medical appointments and attending funerals. The equipment DHL provide isn't fit for the tasks it is meant to perform and breaks down/malfunctions with extreme regularity. The payroll system is shocking and 6 times in the past 15 months have got my wages wrong and other employees have endured even worse The so called 1 to 1 monthly career development/performance reviews are a farce and purely a paper exercise that nobody in management ever reads as they are just filed Their is an over-riding "friends & family" criteria where favouritism is rife Health & Safety is just paid lip service and the company openly allow un-safe practices The above is just the basics of all that is wrong with DHL at Gatwick and my advice to anyone thinking of becoming an employee there is to think twice
