Great opportunities for younger people amid a toxic culture - R&D Engineer Domino Printing Sciences Employee Review

Where to start... Domino R&D is packed full of intelligent and experienced people but the culture seems to want to keep them siloed and only listen to those that complain the loudest. The result is a dysfunctional group of disempowered people with working practices that are frankly backward. They can't spec a product, can't prioritise effectively, can't identify and manage risk, have no faith in schedules. I could go on - there are well established tools for all this stuff but when you try and introduce something you get shouted down for being too bureaucratic or wanting to slow everything down. Which is ironic as the pace of delivery is glacially slow. I left recently as I was managing petty arguments rather than making any technical or practical contribution - I'd reached a point where I felt that very little that I did mattered. My experience of the leaving process and the time since has only reinforced that. I worked there for 14 years and had chase repeatedly to get a final payslip and a P45. Really?
