Pros

It was fun while it lasted

Cons

Today Funding Circle announced its selling the US business because even though it’s forecasted to make a profit, it’s too expensive to invest in. So, it will focus on the UK instead… by giving £25million to shareholders because the market undervalues the company. That’s £25,000/employee When someone asked what’s the impact of the company being undervalued, we’re told it feels better and more fun to work for a company that is not undervalued by the market. Our office has posters saying 90% of people are worried about money, and that financial advice is available. But we have to pay for it. It would be comical if it weren’t so sad

Pros

The mission of helping small business owners succeed is easy to get behind.

Cons

Many people in senior management didn't know what they were doing and were very ego driven, but had the right background to get where they were. It was hard to get things done if you weren't in the right clique, which was somewhat determined by your background and nationality. Very slow to make decisions for a company that wasn't very big.
