Pros

Flexi time is good but depending on where you work, it can be used to get you to work longer because it is impossible to complete casework within the allotted time. Ability to obtain further qualifications

Cons

It is a thankless place to work - i began as an enthusiastic graduate and feel that it has been knocked out of me. Bullying is rife and mentality is very dog eat dog. Dont care about discrimination and many employees on my floor are only managing to power through thanks to anti-depressants (i know of 7 people who are currently on medication for stress/depression). You will be permanently told what your doing wrong and never told what your doing right. Overly convoluted processes really hold you back and pinickety quality reviews provide ample ammunition to an unreflective, quota based 'appraisal'. Appraisal (pmr) is a nerve-wracking experience as you will have no idea whether you are to be the scape goat for your team and become one of the illusive 10% 'must improves' or whether you will be appraised fairly. Dare to complain about any of it and you really are taking your life in your hands as the way g6 and 7 managers behave and talk to people is beyond shocking.
