Pros

Prior to the merger with Pru UK, M&G Investments was a fantastic place to work. The culture was amazing and there was always interesting work and good colleagues. Base pay was on the lower side however the bonus was competitive and working environment made up for the pay.

Cons

The merger wasn’t a merger it was a takeover. As soon as it was announced things quickly started to change in terms of direction and culture. Things got even worse once Anne Richards left as she was a huge asset to the company and the only M&G advocate as part of the new senior management team. I eventually left as have most of the people I worked with during my tenure there. I find it ironic that the eventual end name for the new organisation was M&G considering they obliterated the once wonderful organisation and the few people I know that are still there are miserable.

Pros

Supportive senior managers, culture has greatly improved. New CEO is superb, engaging and energetic. Strategy now delivering results and likely to get a head of steam. Good teamwork & friendly people.

Cons

limited career progression, constant change & lack of stability - employees focus on the here and now, always waiting for the next round of "right sizing" is very stressful and leads to high staff turnover. Can be a challenge to progress if you are not in the "magic circle".
