Pros

* Remnants of multiple formerly great businesses, each of which had an enviable culture. * Some really good people, with fantastic institutional and industry knowledge. Sadly they are fewer and fewer over time. * Offices, especially in Boston, NY and London were modern and well-outfitted.

Cons

Sadly, the formerly great business have been gutted since combination. * Strategic mismanagement (value destroying mergers & acquisitions) * Poor financial forecasting and budgeting (leading to at least two rounds of layoffs per year) * Awful leadership and cronyism (several of the senior leadership are incompetent at best, destructive at worst) * Limited job security due to frequent layoffs and ongoing off-shoring of roles * Crazy levels of politics, leading to huge amounts of wasted energy.

Pros

Norstella has built a culture that genuinely prioritizes innovation, collaboration, and doing what’s best for the company and its people. There’s a strong sense that everyone is working toward the same goals, and leaders across the organization are aligned in driving meaningful impact. One of the best parts of working here is the team environment. I truly enjoy working with my direct team as well as peers across different functions. There’s a high level of mutual respect, and people are always willing to support each other and share ideas. It’s not just talk, there’s a real commitment to helping one another succeed. The leadership team fosters an environment where new ideas are encouraged, and employees are empowered to contribute. It creates a space where innovation can thrive, and you feel like your work actually matters.

Cons

Being remote has its difficulties, but overcomable
