Pros
Decent benefits and work life ratio. Brilliant team members. Love the job. (fibre jointer) Proud of the history. Good/various work flow, no micromanagement (parts of the company differ dramatically). Fully paid for van/tools/fuel. Can use exchanges for leisure parking. Pay is okay. Even with the amount of Cons, I would still recommend working here as the job itself is super statisfying and my fellow team engineers make it perfection. As long as you get the job done, you're left alone and not given anymore, rewarding efficiency and working hard.
Cons
Terrible management and even more terrible decisions. Constant re-orgs and patch re-shuffles cause unneeded stress. Have not properly done what I was hired for for years. Job has been replaced for contractors Job security is a massive issue for everyone. Morale is at an all time low across the company. No faith in executives direction of the company. Constant cost reductions and cheapening tools and not seeing any benefits of such. Exchange welfare is almost non-existent and is a massive H&S issue. No career progression after a certain point. Can be a dangerous job with very little pay incentive. Company will move your job around as they see fit without your input. You are less important than a number on a graph, no matter what they spout about safety and wellbeing. I do about 3 peoples job at once most times.
