Pros

Best Reasons to Work at Purview: "Purview is a fun-loving team of professionals who work hard and care deeply about improving medical outcomes for patients through cutting-edge technology." This is what it says on the Purview Careers website- and it's TRUE! Mission: "improving medical outcomes" - I love the fact that my work has a purpose. It's a career with real-life impact and satisfaction. Being able to work with doctors, patients, and IT folk helps me feel fulfilled. Workplace Culture: "fun-loving team of professionals" - we definitely enjoy being a light-hearted group of people who want to make a difference in the healthcare industry. Jokes, a bit of sarcasm, and playfulness make Purview a delightful workplace. "work hard and care deeply" - as mentioned, we care very much about the real-life impact that our software & services provide to doctors, patients, and IT staff at small and large practices. Leadership: I have the pleasure of experiencing a team-oriented structure here at Purview. The relationships that I've been able to build with the supervisory and management teams are one of the best outcomes of my time here at Purview. On my first day of the job, my supervisor took me out for lunch and chatted about my career path, hobbies, and even favorite TV series! We meet monthly to discuss my personal and career development - it's good to feel supported. Technology: The technology is fantastic! As a business-focused professional, working in a healthcare-IT company that serves emerging and innovating markets is a treat. Each and everyday, there is a new piece of information that I can put into my tool belt, and it will last for a lifetime. The Customers (Internal and External): Doctors, patients, IT, admin, designers, business-people, executives, and teammates- they're all part of the learning experience. I love being able to wake up and serve these customers whether it's the first time I speak to them, or in some cases the twentieth time. All of the things that I mentioned on this list appeal to my professional and personal goals of advancing my career while being fulfilled.

Cons

Reasons to Maybe Consider Not Working at Purview: "If you're looking for an opportunity to join a fast-paced, growing company in an exciting industry where your work makes a real impact on people’s health and lives every day, then Purview is right for you." Again, pulling from the website- Purview IS a fast-paced, growing company in a changing industry. We need to be able to adapt and accept change when it's needed. If you prefer being in a slower work environment with less stress and not as much impact, Purview might not be the place for you. Mission: "improving medical outcomes" - we work everyday to help customers including patients, doctors, and other supportive staff. If you are not customer-friendly, Purview may not be the right fit. Workplace Culture: "fun-loving team of professionals" - we work hard and play hard. If you prefer to be in a less-intense work environment, best look for another place to work. We enjoy having fun, but we enjoy getting work done just as much. Leadership: As a company we have titles like Manager, Director, Specialist, Executive, but we treat each other as teammates. If you prefer a hierarchical structure where the title is king, look somewhere else. Technology: There is a learning curve when working at any company, so Purview is no different. During my first few months, I had to learn many different components of the technology in order to reach full productivity in my role. If you are not a fast-learner and prefer to maintain the same systems and processes, you will not enjoy the pace of Purview's advancement. Customers: As I mentioned earlier, we strive to serve each and every one of our internal and external customers at a fast pace and the right way. Being customer-centered is our competitive advantage. If you're not ready to drop what you're doing so you can help the customer, Purview isn't the place for you. These may be "Cons" to prospective employees who prefer a different work environment, but to me, it's what makes Purview a truly special place that I'm delighted to have as my first career job out of college.

Pros

If you are considering a sales role here and are new to the world of sales, I say do it. I learned so much in my time here; Les has been in this industry for a long time and not only has a lot to teach in terms of industry specifics but also sales skills (specifically, value-based selling). He will completely change the way you view selling and make you a 10x stronger salesperson for it. For that reason, this is an amazing first sales job to launch your sales career. I also really valued the flexibility in the role. It's 100% remote with no in-office requirements, short of the occasional company get-togethers (which are always super fun), and Les treats you like an adult. You are expected to get your work completed and stay on top of prospects, but as long as that is in order, nobody is checking what time you're online or breathing down your neck. The team is also really friendly. Everyone from marketing to HR to implementation to development is a pleasure to work with. Nobody feels like they're too important to help you, and there's a general sense of camaraderie I really valued.

Cons

The cons come with a grain of salt. For someone new in their sales career, this is the kind of environment you want, where you'll learn a great deal and help some customers along the way. The only con is that with an already very niche product being sold into an even more niche market, in an inbound capacity no less, do not expect to have deals closing left and right. This product is very specific to certain practices with certain needs in certain markets, which means you will not have a jampacked pipeline and tons of commission coming in. That's not to say there isn't money to be made here, but from a realistic point of view, on-target earnings are limited due to these factors.

Pros

- Remote work - The software was interesting - At times, good interactions with clients

Cons

- Lack of a training program. I was expected to learn on the job without sufficient guidance or support - Expectations that I was supposed to work outside of hours and teach myself critical things - Barely any support for handling difficult and rude clients. There was a "customer-first" approach that made me feel culpable - Management issues, including favoritism and, at times, disrespectful behavior - No clear paths for advancement. Claims of growth opportunities were later revealed to be unattainable from the start - Some colleagues were friendly, but the overall environment felt cliquey and unwelcoming, with not much tolerance for questions - Lack of transparency regarding expectations, salary, etc
