Pros

Ok benefits and nice office

Cons

Everything. Used to be a great company, employees felt a part of something special, felt more than just a number. Now the new big bosses have made it abundantly clear we are all just numbers and if we dont like the new ways of working then leave. New ways of working are 3 days a week in head office after over 6 years of successfully working from home with 2 days a month in head office for collaboration. They have also just made 160 redundancies and we are sure there will be more to come, getting rid of people who make the changes possible that they are so keen on having yet already very slow to deliver and will only get worse when everyone leaves at the end of May. The ones who are going are the lucky ones.

We’re sorry you feel that way, especially since it’s clear you used to enjoy working here. We are going through a period of change, and whilst we truly believe that these changes are right for the future of Skipton, we don’t underestimate the impact that change can have. On blended working specifically, yes we have asked teams to be in the office three days a week because we want more day-to-day collaboration, more growth and development opportunities, and faster decision-making in person. We listened to colleagues through the consultation period to adapt our approach to this. In our last colleague Peakon survey, around half of our workforce said they actively recommend Skipton as a place to work. We’d encourage you and all our colleagues to tell us what they think when the next survey opens on 24 June.
