This was several years ago (so it might have been scrapped) but they created a rule that if you are more than 15mins late you be fined for £10-20. Which is appalling as it is.
There usually transport disruptions at the weekends where most of the events take place and the location/building are sometimes difficult to access, so you have to plan more time for travel, plus they ask you to arrive 15mins early which you don’t get paid for.
In your contract you have to stay an addtional hour if the client request it.
Since this is an agency most of the time you will work with different main catering companies not the client directly. Where some will treat you poorly (especially the big events) and they always pay their own staff doing the exact same job as you more money. If you want to go into catering part/full time choose the main catering companies never agencies such Splendid.
The owner of splendid (if you ever see him at an event) will treat his whole team like garbage. Best way of saying it without swearing.
If you don’t work full time or they don’t like you, expect to be given the worst events to work at.
Job availablilty are very low except during the holiday periods.
